Last Day

Our last day in Kona is here. Although I would love to stay longer, I miss the kids, the dog and my own bed. ;-) Here are some final shots of beautiful Kona and the surrounding beaches.

The Beach! The Beach!

No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a picture perfect day at the beach. Now THIS is what you call paradise!

We had a great day driving north towards Hilo. Although it was sunny in Kona, it was raining (of course) all along the northern coast. We spent a great day visiting the botanical gardens and seeing the wonders that Hawaii has to offer.

Luau fun

Today we enjoyed our Hawaiian Luau, Poi and all! It was a fantastic show and I highly recommend the pork and the poi .. yummy!

Heading South

Jessica & I decided to head to the southern most point in the United States (non-continental). Here Jessica stands only 19 degrees (less than 1500 miles) from the equator (almost 500 miles south of Miami and 2700 miles away from North America).

Jessica & Michele decided to pose in front of the most beautiful sunset that the two of us have ever seen.

A day in Kona

Our First day in Hawaii was awesome! We had a great time browsing the shops in Kona and drinking Maiti's as well as combing the beach for cool shells. The surf & the sun are wonderful and we have only one question .. how do we find a way to live here?

Up and about

Now that we are up and about I want to give my friends Eric & Michelle a big "Thanks!" for letting us share their condo! I caught them posing last night and took this photo.

The sun is just now rising over the islands and it is a beautiful sight to behold.

I wish I could find a job and move here!

Our trip begins!

Hi folks! Jessica and I thought we would keep you all up to date about our vacation to Kona Hawaii in this blog. I wanted to call it Kona Ho! but I was out voted by Jessica because she somehow thought it had a negative message ;-) We had a poor nights sleep at the Homewood suites right at the Manchester airport (although they did have a pool!) and we are now waiting at the gate to board our flight. Hopefully the 16 hour flight will not cause us to be too crabby!

I will blog more when we get to our first layover in Chicago
